More bad news for the Darwin soccer scene as Locky Conway declared unfit to play against Casuarina due to a thigh strain. The super striker has been injured for most of his Padres career but should be fit in 4 weeks time to face Palmerston for the double header and Olympic on the last day of the season, if not he will retire at he tender age of 27. In other news Freddy Cardellini has received confirmation that his left ankle was broken 3 years ago at Malak oval. He requires a major operation if he is to play the beautiful game again or could hang up the boots for good at the end of the season to take up professional coaching full time.

PADRES LOOK TO CONQUER 5TH PLACE

The sad news that Steve Billias has resigned as coach of NakAzzurri after 5 years in charge was released today. An army without a General will be difficult to control and this could be an opportunity for the red & black Padres boys to capitalise on their opponents misfortune. As it stands Padres are 5 points away from NakAzzurri but with 6 points looming against Palmerston in round 12 & 13, the Azzurri game has the potential to turn into a derby for 5th place.

'EL LOCO' FLAIRS UP PADRES TRAINING

After last week's impressive performance against a strong Hellenic outfit Padres will be looking to give Casuarina a taste of their fury. The red & Black boys will once again be facing a side with a big reputation but in the world of football reputations count for nothing on match day. Good news is that Richie Finney & Tommy Silvestre will all be fit for the big game and inspirational left wingback Dougie Ledwidge will also be ready to meet his old friends. Freddy Cardellini has pushed aside all other commitements to resume coaching the Red Devils. Casuarina looked tired against Port last week as Port played a physical game for the first half but couldnt capitalise without several key players who went missing on the day. Padres will have a full squad and seem to have found a quality goalkeeper in Alehandro  (nicknamed El Loco) after Jose Rene Higuita Zapata a former Colombian football goalkeeper, 'famous for inventing the scorpion kick'. He made a 4 goal difference against Hellenic last week compared to when Padres faced them in round 1. With Cas, Olympic, Port and Azzurri all still contenders for a shaking-up with minows Palmerston joining the list of potential candidates.

"EVERYONE STILL WANTS TO BE A

PADRES!!

Padres are signing 2 new stars in the coming weeks with the return of Ray Chueng & Adelaide boy Daniel Cardellini. 'Ray saved the day' many times for the boys in red & black as he was in goals for 5 of Padres 7 trophy's including the double penalty saves against Uni Rangers in 2004. Not to mention being club secretary for 5 years. He has been applying his trade in Brisbane 2nd Division. Padres welcomes Raymundo home. Daniel 'Cards' will be arriving later this month fresh from a 5 year spell at South Australian Premier League Club Adelaide City. The talented 21 yo midfielder is a natural left footer but can play anywhere from left back to centre forward.

FEARLESS PADRES WARRIORS

Padres faught like 11 fearless warriors on Sunday, missing all of their strikers only to lose 3-1 after hitting the post and a cross-bar through Emanual and a spectacular Angelo Free-kick from 30 yards, then Reino Perala scores amazing volley. Bully, Locky and Tom Silvestre all out injured so Kaarlo Parela played sole striker. [more]
